President

Carl J. Cusano, MBA is the president of Capital Business Advisors, Inc. He has brokered the sale of numerous small and mid-sized businesses, in addition to performing countless business valuation and consulting projects.
 
Carl is the executive vice president and past president of the New York Association of Business Brokers (NYABB). He is a longstanding member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), where he earned the designation of Certified Business Intermediary (CBI). He is a member of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors (GCAR), and Commercial Industrial Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (CIREB). Carl has served as a member on the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce Small Business  Council, and is a member of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. Carl is the incoming vice president of Schenectady-East Rotary, where he has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship in recognition for his strong dedication to the mission of Rotary via service to local community.

Carl has been designated as an Industry Expert by the Business Brokerage Press. He is an often sought after resource in the business media, having written articles and quoted in publications such as CNN Money, the Business Review, and the Saratoga Business Journal. Carl is active in the region’s business community and frequently lectures on business sales, mergers & acquisitions, and entrepreneurship. Carl has also served as an adjunct professor of Business at the College of Saint Rose and other area colleges.

Carl received an M.B.A. in Marketing, with academic honors, from Russell Sage College, a B.S. in Business Administration from the College of Saint Rose, and an A.A.S. in Banking, Insurance and Real Estate from Hudson Valley Community College.

Robert J. Braathe, MBA
Business Intermediary

Robert J. Braathe, MBA is a Business Intermediary with Capital Business Advisors, Inc.  He is a seasoned entrepreneur who has the skills and insight needed to help his clients achieve a successful business sale or acquisition.  After working in management positions with Walt Disney World, Gap, and Apple, Robert founded his company, Braathe Enterprises in October 2005.  Today, his company, Braathe Enterprises, manages projects in marketing, human resources and social media through a unique program called The Virtual Business Brain.  This program provides companies with consulting while offering college students the opportunity to gain real world experience through virtual internships.  Since 2011, over 50 students have participated.  He has taught at Skidmore College, SUNY Delhi, and three area community colleges in courses that include hospitality, management, marketing, and entrepreneurship.  Robert received his MBA from Western Connecticut State University and his B.A.. in Hospitality from The University of Massachusetts.  In addition, he has taken PhD level courses from The State University of New York at Albany and Northcentral University.
